Hi to all, Participating in this BAW session is already jumping on the cybertrain, isn’t it? This article has a real nice way to deal with the different issues raised by the shift in education paradigm, especially for a teacher’s angle. “Engaging in the learning process, in interactive, collaborative learning experiences which are hands-on, task-bases and project-based” should definitely be shared by both teachers and learners. It’s true that with the acceleration of technology development we are in an ever changing environment providing us with more and more sophisticated tools which are authentic tools, in the way that they were not created for education purpose. Therefore, besides getting hands-on experience, we need to be able to assess their potential for our students’ learning. (I found a nice example of this skill in this post on Free Technology for Teachers. www.freetech4teachers.com/2010/02/using-technology-to-find-students.html ) :)The task is far from being easy and I agree that communities of practice are essential to keep our motivation and our will to be lifelong learners high. BTW, I was impressed by the history of the BAW community. Since I don’t teach in an important institution anymore, I like to consider the web as a huge active teachers’ room where practicing and sharing in a risk-free and collaborative environment keep the train going. Thanks to all.
