I have a question that i hope one of the smart, clued-in people on this workshop can help me with. Is it possible to put subtitles on youtube videos if you are not the uploader? I have recently discovered a great application that allows you to edit the clips so that you can show students only the small part you want them to focus on (see Nik's Learning Technology Blog), but to make this clip more accessible for the weaker students i'd love to add subtitles. Any ideas?

Hi, that's my concern too! I am after softwares which can help me create videos with subtitles! For this, I am using movie maker software or Ulead! Once the youtube video is downloaded on your pc you can play with it as you want, provided you know how to use these softwares! Cheers Houssnia

Hi, first of all, how do you download YouTube videos on your computer? However much I try, I can only save them in my YouTube folder as favourites, but cannot download them. Thanks. Svetlana

Hi Svetlana To download youtube videos and save them on you PC or USB i was told to click on the revolving red, yellow and blue balls near the address bar if you have FireFox and select the file you wish to save. This seems to work for me. I don't know what to do if you have Internet Explorer though.
