hello all
Here are my answers to week 6 questions:
1-what is Blended Learning?
BL refers to combining methods, techniques or resources and applying them in an interactively meaningful learning environment. It means an easy access of learners or students to different learning resources in order to apply the knowledge and skills they learn under the supervision and support of the teacher inside and outside the classroom.A typical example of blended learning methodology would be a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions to present content. An instructor can begin a course with a well-structured introductory lesson in the classroom, and then proceed with follow-up materials online.
2-yes I am planning to introduce BL to my students. The activities I will start with are:
using blogs for online journaling, wikis for collaborative writing, chat rooms for synchronous communication, students posting questions on wikis in response to each lesson, the teacher can add a feedback in comments, using online discussion forums ,sms messaging and podcasting.
3-I think the most appropriate tools I have explored in BAW10 are:
teachers can blend existing courses with games, activities, listening exercises, and grammar reference units contained online. This supports both classroom, and Autodidacticism or remote practice such as internet café.
Teachers can add such tools as discussion boards, mail systems and live chat, along with content including documents and web pages. This version of software is now called Webcourse.
Moodle is designed to help teachers create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content.
